THRILLER POSTER 4 : CATCHING FIRE

The third thriller poster I'm going to be analysing is from the film The Hunger Games Catching Fire :

1. The title written below the main character in the poster is 'Catching fire', this could connote that there is fire involved in between individuals. This is typical of a thriller because we associate fighting and conflict within the typical storylines.

2. The slogan : 'REMEMBER WHO THE ENEMY IS' - typically thriller slogans refer to the plot line. By presenting the slogan in block capitals, it creates the effect that this is very important.

3. The viewer can see that the main character is looking directly at the viewer, holding a bow and flaming arrow.

4. From the main protagonists appearance we can assume that she looks like she is a fighter or an aggressive archer in battles. Typical of a thriller genre as it created the enigma of mystery.

5. Furthermore she is a broken stereotype of women as she is fighting and evidently in a position of power and control. Although in contrast we can see by her facial expressions that she seems scared about what she is doing.

                                                                      6. The weapons (bow & arrow) are representative of the
thriller genre. Portraying her the main protagonist as out
to kill or looking for someone.

                                                                      7. The background is black presenting darkness, this
connotes fear and the unknown. Typically used to scare
                                                                      the audience in thrillers.
